Dr. Mario Hoffman, Co-Founder and General Manager of the Yona Group
Dr. Hoffman has amassed over 30 years in the field of pavement engineering. He has done worldwide consulting on diverse sets of pavement and infrastructure conditions in various locations including the U.S.A., Philippines, Panama, Peru, Bolivia, Grenada, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, and Israel. Dr. Hoffman has authored and co-authored dozens of technical papers in peer-reviewed professional journals, was an Assistant Professor at Louisiana State University (USA), and has taught and conducted research at major facilities such as the Technion (Israel) and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA). He has consulted on projects worldwide in design, construction, maintenance, railways, airports, paving materials and asphalt technology. Dr. Hoffman is an active member of numerous national and international professional committees and organizations.
Eng. Yehuda Ziss, Co-Founder and CEO of the Yona Group
Mr. Ziss has amassed over 25 years in paving material technologies, quality control and assurance of infrastructure projects, project management, and implementation of new paving materials and technologies. He worked as an engineer at a major professional soil laboratory in Delft, Holland. Among the positions Mr. Ziss has held are Chief Soils & Materials Engineer with the international Solel Boneh Co. & Reynolds Construction Co. in Nigeria, Chief Engineer with Mahzevi Even (Israel), and Chairman of the Expert Committee of the Israeli Standard for Asphalt Pavements (IS362). He has managed and consulted on numerous national and international maintenance, rehabilitation and infrastructure development projects, and since 1995, has written all general asphalt specifications for the Israeli PWD.
Eng. Edmundo Botner, Partner and CTO
Mr. Botner is a recognized expert in road engineering and geographic information systems. He has participated in numerous feasibility studies, road design, and transportation asset management projects. He has consulted for the Inter-American Development Bank and has worked in Argentina, Israel, Uruguay, Bolivia, Paraguay, Peru, Panama, Guatemala, Brazil, and Nigeria. Mr. Botner developed the VIS (Virtual Infrastructure Survey) technology that utilizes geo-referenced digital video to measure, position, and inventory transportation infrastructure components. He has specialized in the development of transportation asset management solutions, including geo-referenced techniques for collecting and analyzing road performance parameters - including roughness, rutting, road geometry, friction, FWD (Falling Weight Deflectometer), GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar), etc. He has also authored numerous technical papers and presented them at prestigious global congresses.
