Q. Can YONA perform road surveys?
A. Ye1s. Our team of pavement and asset experts is fully qualified to perform road and asset surveys. As in-house developers of YonaPMS, and with decades of global experience in pavement and asset management, we work with our customers to understand their priorities, and perform road surveys that generate flexible data that can be utilized regardless of any future changes.
Q. What are the priorities in a road survey?
A. Every client has his own set of specific priorities, but two of the most common are safety and budget. Everyone strives for good roads within their budget limitations. As experts in the field of pavement and asset maintenance, the Yona Group has designed YonaPMS to optimize your budget while operating according to objective engineering criteria to maximize roadway quality.
Q. What are the advantages of performing road surveys in-house instead of outsourcing them?
A. There are a number of reasons to keep road surveys in-house.
-Changing priorities: You determine your current and evolving priorities. Yona’s modular system enables you to adapt to changing needs at a moment’s notice.
-Familiarity: You know your roads and needs better than anyone else.
Security: In today’s world, keeping your data in-house has become more important than ever.
-Information Database: With YonaPMS, you can import and export historical and current data to suit your evolving needs. All your information remains in-house, and can be adapted to your priorities.
-Cost: Utilizing the customizable and modular YonaPMS, all your software and hardware purchases are cost-effective over both long and short term. Hardware and software can be integrated on an existing vehicle.
Q. I have priority roads. Will the YonaPMS System adapt to my priorities?
A. Yes. You can manually modify GIS map selections, adding or replacing segments according to your needs and preferences.
Q. How do I determine when to perform roadway maintenance?
A. After you enter your parameters into your personalized Decision Tree, YonaPMS will create annual and multi-year roadwork plans based on objective engineering criteria and optimized according to your budgetary and engineering parameters.
Q. How do I find out which segments of road will need work before there is a problem?
A. YonaPMS will propose candidate segments to rehabilitate, displayed in tabular and GIS platforms that are optimized according to your budget requirements. The system will estimate the rehabilitation costs according to your index of priorities.
Q. How do I track my historical data? Can I overlay that data with the information coming in daily? How can I share my data?
A. YonaPMS displays updated results on a GIS map, while creating a hierarchical tool, custom-designed to your decision-making process. All your data is stored in the archival data system and any issue is overlaid, and compared and contrasted with current conditions. YonaPMS integrates tabular and graphical data in a full GIS environment, and is compatible with the most commonly used GIS systems (ESRI, MapInfo, Autodesk, Microstation). Results can be easily exported to Excel, Word and other software.
Q. Is YonaPMS software regularly updated?
A. Yes. We continually update our products to ensure that the most advanced technologies and best practices are available to our customers.
Q. What are the main features that make YonaPMS different from other available systems?
A. The YonaPMS system is fully GIS-referenced. That means that you can pinpoint a segment in the GIS map and immediately display all relevant information regarding that segment from the map. You can even start your video at any point by simply touching that point with your mouse on your map. During your “virtual” trip along the selected segment, you can change the travel direction by pressing just one icon. Making an inventory of your traffic signs, for example, has never been easier. As you “travel” along your video and you spot a sign, you click on the sign, a form opens with the sign’s catalog entry and the data you decided to collect, you fill in the data, take measurements of the sign as needed, take a “picture” of the sign, and from then on, the sign with all its attributes are saved in your database, and positioned in your GIS map with its exact coordinates as well as a picture of the sign.
The system flexibility and adaptability on one hand - and the complete interaction among the alpha numeric, geographic, and videographic databases on the other - make YonaPMS a unique system for modern pavement and asset management.
